  • We are currently accepting new clients. We do not have a waitlist and we generally offer our clients appointments within a week or two.

    We offer appointments across the week, including weekdays, After-hours and Saturday appointments.

    We understand the importance of receiving timely mental health care and support, and aim to respond to all client enquiries within 2 business days.

  • We understand that acessing support can be quite daunting at first, and that it requires great courage and bravery to seek help when you need it.

    Level Headed Psychology offers a free 5-10 minute phone call with all new clients. This allows you the opportunity to speak with a practitioner, ask questions and see whether they are the right fit for you. If you are interested in speaking first with a practitioner, please send us an email at info@levelheadedpsychology.com.

    You can also schedule an appointment directly via our website. Simply, visit the ‘Schedule a Consultation’ page and follow the prompts. You will receive an email confirmation soon after, as well as information regarding consent, confidentiality and our clinical intkae information.

  • You can request a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. To complete this, your GP will ask you some questions about what is happening for you right now to better understand your needs. Based off of your responses, your GP may recommend that you access support and treatment from a Psychologist, and refer you on to see a Psychologist in your community.

    A mental health care plan allows you to access a Medicare rebate for sessions with a psychologist. You can access this rebate on up to 10 sessions with a psychologist per calendar year, pending review with your GP and psychologist.

    You will receive just over 89 dollars back into your account, from the cost of your psychology consultation. Rebates are processed automatically and at the time of your scheduled consultation. If you have reached your Medicare Safety Net Threshold - you will receive a higher rebate amount. You will receive the rebate amount in your account soon after.


    Unfortunately, there are no rebates applicable for counselling consultations.

    You do not need a Mental Health Care Plan to access Mental Health Support. If you do not have this plan, you may need to pay the full cost of the service that you access.

  • Both psychologists and counsellors are trained and registered mental health practitioners, however, the pathways to becoming registered in these professions is different.

    Psychologists are registered with and governed by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Psychology Board of Australia. Counsellors are registered with and governed by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

    At Level Headed Psychology, both our counsellor and psychologist are dedicated to keeping up-to-date with the latest approaches and developments in mental health treatment and research. Our counsellor and psychologist regularly partake in clinical supervision and professional training in an effort to continue to reflect on their practice and consider ways to better serve and support their clients.

  • Telehealth therapy allows you to access mental health support and treatment at a time that suits you, around your usual commitments (work, life, family), and without having to schedule travel to and from your health appointments. Telehealth also allows you to choose a practitioner that is the right fit for you, irrespective of where they are physically based. You are no longer limited to only choosing a practitioner that is local to you, and can instead choose a practitioner that is instead, the right fit for you.

    Level Headed Psychology offers telehealth consultations meaning you can access consultations with a psychologist or counsellor by phone, or by video. For this reason, Level Headed Psychology is able to offer services to clients Australia-wide, via weekday, weekend and After-hour appointments.

  • Level Headed Psychology was born out of a wish to offer a modern, inclusive service with experienced and responsive mental health practitioners. Both our psychologist and counsellor are bilingual, culturally responsive and trauma-informed. They use an integrative and eclectic mix of different evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-based, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Strengths-based and Solution-focused approaches.

    Collectively, our practitioners have worked across a number of different industries and settings including but not limited to schools, government departments, rehabilitation settings, community organizations and mental health settings.

  • Your privacy is always kept in mind. We understand that it takes great courage to seek out care and support. We strive to protect and safeguard your information. As health professionals, we are legally required to take every effort to protect your information. However, there are some exceptions.

    During your initial consult, your practitioner will discuss confidentiality with you, and you will be provided with a privacy policy to refer back to you if you are unsure or have any questions.

    At times, you may wish to have your practitioner share your information with other professionals involved in supporting you. You can discuss this with your practitioner and your permission or consent to share this information will be sought.
